1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using mxio.io ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, do not use the Service.

The Service is operated by mxio ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including free and paid plan subscribers.

2. Service Status

The Service is live and accepting users. Certain features may be labeled "Beta" to indicate they are newer and still being refined. Beta features:

  • May change, be rate-limited, or be discontinued without advance notice.
  • Are not covered by any service level agreement (SLA).
  • Are provided on a best-effort basis.

We will notify registered users via email before any major transitions that affect their account or data.

3. Description of Service

mxio.io provides email DNS tools and monitoring services, including but not limited to: MX lookup, SPF checking, DKIM validation, DMARC analysis, blacklist monitoring, header analysis, DNS record lookups, domain health monitoring, and SPF flattening.

Free tools are available without an account. Monitoring, alerting, and advanced features require a registered account and may require a paid subscription.

4. User Accounts

To create an account, you must provide a valid email address. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your authentication credentials (passkeys, authenticator apps, recovery codes)
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Notifying us promptly if you become aware of any unauthorized use

We may disable accounts that violate these Terms or that show signs of abuse.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to attack, disrupt, or probe systems you do not own or have authorization to test
  • Attempt to overwhelm the Service with automated requests beyond the published rate limits
  • Use the Service to send spam, phishing emails, or other unsolicited communications
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service
  • Resell or redistribute Service access without our written permission
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits or rate limits

6. Paid Plans and Billing

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually through Stripe.

  • Free plan features are available without payment.
  • Paid features require an active subscription.
  • Pricing and plan limits are published on the Service and may be updated with reasonable notice.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No prorated refunds are provided for partial billing periods.

7. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the Privacy Policy.

Domain data queried through the tools (DNS records, IP addresses, blacklist status) is publicly available information obtained via standard DNS queries and public APIs. The Service does not access any private data about the domains you check.

8. AI-Powered Features (Beta)

The Service includes AI-powered explanation features that use third-party AI providers (Anthropic and OpenAI) to generate plain-English interpretations of DNS check results. These features are currently labeled "Beta" and subject to the following terms:

  • No guarantee of accuracy. AI-generated explanations are provided "as-is" for informational purposes only. They may contain errors, omissions, or outdated recommendations.
  • You are responsible for verification. Always verify AI recommendations against your specific infrastructure and consult your email or DNS provider's documentation before making configuration changes.
  • Rate limits apply. AI explanations are subject to per-plan monthly usage limits. Usage beyond your plan's quota requires a plan upgrade.
  • Data sent to third parties. Domain names, DNS records, and check results are sent to AI providers via API for analysis. See our Privacy Policy for details.
  • May change or be discontinued. AI features may be modified, rate-limited, or removed at any time. We will endeavor to provide notice of material changes.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, documentation, and content, is owned by mxio and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or brand assets.

Your data remains yours. We claim no ownership over the domains you monitor, the reports generated from your queries, or your account configuration.

10. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
  • DNS analysis results are complete or accurate (DNS data is inherently dynamic)
  • Monitoring alerts will be delivered in real time or without delay
  • The Service will detect all email authentication problems or security threats

To the maximum extent permitted by law, mxio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or business opportunity, arising from your use of the Service.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these Terms, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.

Upon termination:

  • Your access to paid features will end immediately
  • Monitored domain data associated with your account will be deleted
  • Aggregate, anonymized usage data may be retained for analytics

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be resolved in the courts of the State of California.
